Xmods Generation 1
The original Generation 1 Xmods (aka..Gen 1) were released in the Fall of 2003, featuring semi-proportional steering and modular construction enabling parts to be swapped. The Generation 1 series Xmods are no longer manufactured, though parts are still readily available for them.

There were thirteen different Xmods Generation 1 Starter Kits released in the USA. They are as follows:

Xmods Evolution
The Xmods Evolution models (aka..Evo's or Gen 2) were released in the autumn of 2005. They had substantial construction differences from the Xmods Generation 1 series and were available with either a car or truck chassis. The electronics were vastly improved, with one main board compared to two separate pieces in the Generation 1 version. The motor was mounted transversely in contrast to Generation 1's longitudinal layout. While the Generation 1 chassis had a separate battery housing (each holding two AAA batteries) on each side, the Evolution chassis had one battery housing (holding four AAA batteries) at the bottom (underneath). This series was discontinued in the USA mid-2007.

Xmods Street
The Xmods Street models (aka..Streets or Gen 3) were released in 2009. They had a few construction differences from the Xmods Evolution series, such as: the crystals have been removed and soldered onto the electronics board and inside the remote, each car has a dedicated channel, a hard rubber substance is used to protect the motor terminal, less wheel wobble then the Evo series, the rear a-arms and motor cradle have been reinforced, the mirrors are made of soft rubber and the bodies are one piece (no body kits).
